Word documents opening as .doc

I need someone to explain something to me. I had all of my files saved to the server. Now they are in my documents folder but when I open up stuff that was saved as Word, they come back as a document (.doc). The print is small to make changes as I am looking at a full page document. Yesterday, there were times when I couldn’t make changes or Save As.

I want to use and revise previous worksheets and handouts for the classroom in AppleWorks.

Microsoft Word saves files as .doc so that is normal. If the font is too small it could either be the actual font on the page, or it could be a different way you are viewing the word document.

You can highlight all of the text and increase the font size, or you can go up to the top toolbar, click ‘View’ and select a different view.
